One of only a few of this blend made in Mudgee. Half the fruit for this wine was crushed and the remainder tipped straight into an open fermenter for whole bunch fermentation which was long and slow with hand plunging several times a day.
This is a modern, food-friendly style of Shiraz with aromas of berry fruit and spice. The inclusion of 3% Viognier fruit to the ferment added complexity and lifted the nose. A finely structured more medium-bodied and approachable Shiraz with dark chocolate and dried fruits, finishing with fine grain tannins.
Awards: Awarded 87/100 at an independent evaluation by Wine Showcase Magazine in Adelaide. in 2010. Bronze medal winner in the Mudgee Wine Show 2009. Bronze medal winner in the Cowra Wine show 2011.
